Bonnet Tapes have been used on Motor Vehicles since the early years to prevent the bonnet (hood) rubbing on the scuttle (firewall) and radiator shell. The flat type usually being fitted in slots and the beaded type rivited to the radiator and scuttle respectively. Their use became more limited in the 1950`s and one of the last manufacturers to use them being the Land Rover Series 2 in the early 1970`s.
